The Crew Column
This month we are happy to introduce Ramon Trevino. Ramon has 12 years of experience in the landscaping industry. He joined Hambleton's about 6 months ago and has become an integral part of our team. In his down time, Ramon enjoys spending time with his 3 kids. He's a fan of a wide array of sports and loves cheering on his DC favorites in his free time.
Your Lawn in February
A monthly guide of what to expect...
This winter has been unusually warm, even breaking records with a few days this month hitting the 70's! However, we're not out of the woods yet. If Mother Nature decides to send us some flakes, be sure to use ice-melt products carefully around lawn edges and plants, as this can cause damage. Otherwise, enjoy the last few weeks before the arrival of spring!
Items of Intrigue
I Feel Like I'm Walking in Circles: Did you know that the average person walks the equivalent of five times around the world in a lifetime?! That's based on a moderately active person taking approximately 7,500 steps per day, and maintaining that daily average until the age of 80.
Wonder Where they Got That Name: This interesting plant goes by many names, including lyre's flower, lady in a bath, Venus's car and Dutchman's trousers... though I think it's common name, Bleeding Heart is obviously most fitting. These plants are native to China, Japan and other regions of Asia. Don't be fooled by their "tender" appearance, as they are poisonous. It is not advisable to ingest any part of the plant, and handling them can cause skin irritation...so like any other bleeding heart...handle with care!
